so i realized the other day, that with the confusion of who plays who, and a character directory having to be something to go find, it might be easier instead to create a system of identifying who plays what character through mini profiles rather than a thread.
what does this entail, exatly? it requires no contribution from members, only the staff; namely, admins. custom titles would be used to add links to characters' profiles, with some sort of color system to distinguish what type a character is; i.e. female student, male student, etc. i've added it to my own mini profile using the gender-based color scheme below, so you can see the essence of what it will look like if we decide to use it. after you vote, please also post here letting me know what type of scheme you'd prefer if you want to use it. c:
and while i'm at it, if a member has a character links thread, would it be easier to link to that, as it redirects to information about the character anyway? it might work a little better for people with more characters, at least, since the space in the custom title is limited.
brighter colors female student male student female teacher male teacher
similar colors female student male student female teacher male teacher
gender-based colors female student male student female teacher male teacher
...or something else entirely? not those colors necessarily; they're meant just to represent the schemes.

:U Well. I think people should be required to post their trackers or something in their signature. . . and then when they run out of room make a character links thread thing that we have already. . . But on another site of mine we add people's other characters in their custom titles, as well. However, we don't link to their bios because of the lack of space, y'know. :U Just. Thought I'd bring it up. ^^;

Personally, I don't like having a signature. It's too much to look at, with templates and all if you have one. I like my things to be somewhat coordinated, so if I have a signature that doesn't match my template, I get all irritated.
But I think the general idea is a good one. (:

Ah. Well I just mean so like mods can have direct access to trackers to gauge level, attacks, and the like. . . . When I mod a thread I like to know what kind of Pokemon they have, what levels they are, and all that. I know with the new templates people are posting the little images, but that doesn't tell me what levels they are and stuff like that. I didn't really mean for people to have the picture signatures, but maybe even just text links would do.

then, would it make more sense to have links to LOGS in this mini profile implementation, rather than PROFILES? that seems like the best way to appease everyone; mods have access to the needed information, and it doesn't require the use of signatures.

I think I like Papaya's idea. And how she already has links to her characters on the little sidebar thing. xD Gender-based and whatever. It would just make things simpler, I think, and still gives the member the option of having a signature or not. I just find signatures to be a pain, especially with having to update them, change completely, blahblah.
