so, now that stars is beginning to grow (albeit slightly faster than we expected), we're in need of some more people to join our staff team. the more the site grows, the harder it's going to be for just myself, guava, and melon to take care of. below you can find a basic description of what each of the staff positions we have here at stars encompass, and if you're interested in helping us out, feel free to apply~ c: administrator so we're actually not looking for admins in the sense that you can apply for them. rather, if we see a mod doing an exceptional job helping out with the site, we might ask them if they'd like to be promoted to an admin. the admins are the heads of the site; they specialize in answering questions, interacting with members, updating the site as needed, running promos, events, and contests, and all other manner of things. they will occasionally mod threads, though typically not as often as mods, and are the only members of the site that can make pokémon on the rare list found in the must reads appear. current admins papaya, jordyhead mod like our admins, the head mod position is not something that can be applied for. while we might not be looking for admins at a certain point, our head mod position is essentially the assistant position to the admins, and if should any reason the admins disappear, the head mods will be the people left in charge in their stead. they have the authority to perform all mod duties at any time, and they have the same level of authority as an admin of the site. these are our most trusted and dedicated moderators, and you would do well to listen to them as you would listen to an admin. current head mods none profile mod the main job of profile mods is, obviously, to look through character profiles as they are submitted to the site and either move them to the correct file if they look okay, or offer helpful suggestions to improve the profile if need be. they are also in charge of keeping the class roster and dorm assignment threads updated as characters are accepted. this means that as soon as a character is accepted, the class roster and dorm assignment threads get updated. it is the profile mod's responsibility with this to make sure that a member that plays a teacher does not have one of their own characters in their class, and that a member's characters are not in the same dorm. profile mods will also mod threads on occasion if it is needed. current profile mods shichiboard mod the main job of a board mod is play npcs and wild pokémon for members of the site as needed. this comes mainly in the form of orientation hall threads and training threads, but other occasions as well. if by chance a profile mod or an advertising mod is missing, a board mod may assume the duties of that mod temporarily until their return if they're not already too preoccupied. otherwise, an admin may assume the duties until said mod returns. current board mods seraph, ellie, unfezantorient mod like board mods, the orient mod's primary job is to mod threads; however, their main concerns lie with threads in the orientation hall. board mods can mod orientation hall threads and orient mods can mod other boards' threads, but it is an orient mod's job to always check the orientation hall for threads first. it's always convenient for new members to be able to get through the orientation hall quickly and easily, and we've decided to include an orient mod to make that process even more simple. so in essence, orient mods are the same as board mods and mod all boards, but they will worry about orientation hall threads before modding other threads. current orient mods tilaniadvertising mod the final of our four sets of mods, the duties of the advertising mod lie mainly within the advertising and affiliation board. these mods are in charge of posting our ad on other sites for first time posters as well as moving all completed ad swaps (link backs and first time posters that we've return posted on) to the accepted ads board. they will also notify an admin of any new affiliation requests that need to be looked at, as well as at monthly intervals going through all affiliates to make sure they're still active and reporting any that aren't to the admins. like all other mods, advertising mods will also mod boards when they are needed. current advertising mods starzy* underlined name denotes original head staff all that hasn't scared you yet? in that case, we'd love it if you decided to apply. simply fill out the form below and post it as a reply to this thread so that guava and i can take a look at it. please don't be afraid to make it long; the more effort we can see you've put into an application, the more likely you are to be accepted. and also, just because it says we need a certain number, doesn't mean that we won't accept more than that. so feel free to reply regardless of who has already been accepted as what. (:
YOUR NAME self-explanatory APPLYING FOR profile mod / board mod / advertising mod / orient mod
EXPERIENCE have you ever modded before; if so, what exactly were your duties?
INCENTIVE in essence, why do you want to be a mod on stars? convince us that we should pick you.
SAMPLE a sample of your writing. it can be something you've written on stars or something else entirely; just make it pokémon related. it can even be a mod post from another site if you've been a mod before.

YOUR NAME Jordy. :3
APPLYING FOR Board mod.
EXPERIENCE None whatsoever. But I've been watching the other mods work and I think I've got a good handle on what is to be expected and such.
INCENTIVE I like to come up with different personalities, but most of them are fleeting - They don't stick around enough for me to want to make a full-fledged character out of them. As a board mod, I could really enjoy my random personalities in the forms of Pokemon and NPCs. Plus, when we all get excited for whatever random Pokemon we're about to be battling, it's just hella fun. ♥ I want to be able to give people the Pokemon they want most, or at least a chance to. And I mean, sometimes it's just awesome to deter from what you know (playing humans, mostly), and try something incredibly new.
SAMPLE Excuse my probably extremely lame writing sample, but I'mma do my absolute best considering my condition right now. xD;;; ♥
One foot up, one foot down. One foot up, one foot down. Up, down, up down, right, left, right, left. The short, chubby body of the Pokemon moved from side to side with each triumphant step it took within the thick trees and grass and wildberry bushes. His arms were out at his sides, one long ear cocked outwards while the other stood straight up; He was listening intently for any rustlings of the underbrush, the shaking of branches if one were to hop from tree to tree. Their game had been going on for at least forty-five minutes, now, and still no sign of his hide-and-seek companion. The Pikachu most certainly thought that, with a body that brightly coloured, that it would be a piece of cake spying the male Nidoran. He was bright purple, for Arceus' sake!
Pikachu stopped and looked down towards his own feet.
Okay, so maybe a shocking yellow pelt wasn't exactly what you'd call camouflage. Nidoran more than likely kept spotting the mouse-like creature over and over, and would change his hiding place every time Pikachu got close!
That sneaky bugger, Pikachu had thought, and curled his tiny paw into a fist.
But not only had forty-five minutes passed, but the warm sun was beginning to diminish from the forest's path, and the beams of light shining through the tree canopies would no longer lead his way towards the end of this game, and eventually, back to his home. And though her face was pale, beautiful and hauntingly bright, the moon's glow would not suffice their travels. Standing up straight and balancing on his toes, Pikachu's nose sniffed the cooling air around him for any lingering scent of Nidoran that may have been on the passing breeze.
"Pika, piiii!" The creature called, his little voice ringing out through the empty spaces where trees didn't take root. Not even the old, annoyed Noctowl sitting up in the tree above Pikachu responded, nor did he rustle his feathers at the young Pokemon's voice. "Pikachuu-uu!" He called out again before resting his front paws on the ground, and began a slight jog on all fours. Worry struck his pudgy face, and though he was sure the Nidoran could fend for himself, what kind of friend would he be to just leave the poison type out here all alone? Frowning inwardly, his pace was quickened, only to be stopped suddenly by the sight of ...
Bright wrappers? Just laying there at the base of the tree?
So it was drawing nearer to twilight and the inevitable loss of one's way back home ...Who cared?! There were sweets near by, and Pikachu certainly wasn't going to pass up that opportunity!
"Pi!" he chirped out with a little smile pushing his fat cheeks out just that much further, and quickly obscuring his direction from straight ahead to a hard left, the mouse-like Pokemon waddled his way towards the empty packets where sugary confections once resided. Plopping down in front of one such wrapper, he picked it up with both paws, sniffed, and licked away the remaining sugar crystals left on the plastic walls. His face glowed with happiness, and when peering his bright brown eyes just a little ahead of himself, Pikachu found the mother lode. He gasped, his eyes wide, and tossing the candy wrapper over his shoulder, he was over to the pile of treats in a matter of seconds.
He dove into the pile, tearing a treat from it's packaging and immediately shoving the chocolatey decadence into his mouth. The Pokemon chewed away, the wide smile on his face never wavering for a second as he pulled sweet by sweet from it's previous container, and it a new home - To be mashed between his sharp, little teeth and tingle his senses.
Little did Pikachu know that this pile of candy wasn't set there by Arceus, himself. Little did Pikachu know that behind the tree trunk was a stronger, more menacing Pokemon awaiting it's time to launch itself onto the electric type. Little did Pikachu know that his soon-to-be enemy belonged to a human, a human with a little capturing capsule known as a Pokeball.
Little did Pikachu know of his last moments of freedom.
But hey. At least he was enjoying it.

YOUR NAME Tilani/Tili
APPLYING FOR Board mod, as I'd love to help out with the Orientation Hall threads. :3
EXPERIENCE I'm an admin of my current site. I was once a mod on a site called Teima Region, which I helped move to a new link after the admin up and left. I was once a global mod of a Warrior site closed down as well two or three years ago. On top of that, I've been co-admin, global mod, and on occasion, mod for many, many other sites.
INCENTIVE Even though I'm still kind of new to Stars, I already adore it and everyone on it. I've seen the amount of modding, whether in the roleplay board or the Hall, that needs to be done. I'd love to be able to help handle the load, and help others get their partner pokemon or team pokemon quicker, if only by a little bit.
SAMPLE The young Nidorina, newly evolved and unused to her new bulkier size, shuffled out of the thick brush of the comforting forest, snuffling hopefully towards a cluster of bright red berries, the last ones, on the edge of the bush just out of reach. She knew from experience that they were delicious, but they only grew in a limited time of the year. These were probably the last berries of the year, and they were going to be all hers.
A foot away from the berries, something suddenly snapped tightly around her ankles and she was sent squealing upside down. Nidorina thrashed, screeching, though the rope lashed around her feet held firm and she was caught tight. "It seems this trap actually worked!" A sinister, but apparently delighted, human voice suddenly broke out from behind a tree just as a man in black clothes with extra pockets and a metal stick that made loud booming noises strapped across his back.
Even though she was suspended, Nidorina growled loudly as him and snapped her teeth, trying to act as threatening as she could to make him go away. "A Nidorina, hmm?" He continued as if not noticing her threatening actions, moving closer but still out of range. She growled again, her thrashing re-intensified out of sheer desperation. She'd heard rumors of this human; pokemon who ran amok of him never came back.
Screeching indignantly at him, she attempted to use poison sting, an attack she was still unfamiliar with, and the deadly purple pin needles launched at him. Laughing, he merely sidestepped her potentially fatal attack, looking unruffled. "You evolve into Nidoqueen, don't you? I just happen to have a Moonstone handy; you seem like you'd be powerful."
She hissed at him, despite the fear trickling into her veins. She was well aware that evolving by stone could be extremely painful, and she had no desire to go through that. It had been bad enough evolving from a Nidoran F, and that was naturally. To be forced to do something she didn't want to do would be horrible. The man merely laughed at her before turning to paw through his bag for something, probably that evolutionary stone he had mentioned.
The fear became terror, and Nidorina desperately twisted and turned in her stubborn restraints, calling loudly as she did so. "Here we are!" He murmured triumphantly, pulling out a glittering, black stone. "I'll save this for when your mine." He grinned maliciously at the petrified pokemon strung up like a pig. He then pulled a small pokeball off of his belt and enlarged it with a click of the large center button.
"Victreebell, I choose you!" He tossed the pokeball into the air almost lazily, and with a flash of red light, the menacing grass-type formed on the grass, screeching at the Nidorina loudly. She bellowed back.
"Not so fast!" A new voice burst in just then, a higher, softer one that lacked the menacing edge of the man. A young girl with flyaway blonde hair forced her way through the thick underbrush. "I won't let you take that Nidorina!"
"Are you going to stop me?" The horrible man sneered.
"Yes!" She cried proudly at him before pulling out her own pokeball and throwing it in the air. "Ninetales, teach them a lesson!" The beauitful golden-cream pokemon appeared in a bright flash of light, cooing out her name at the screeching Victreebell. "Ninetales, use Flamethrower!"
A brilliant stream of flame assaulted the Victreebell, who lunged to the side, though its vine was scorched badly. The plant cried out even as it tucked its injured part behind it defensively.
"Ignore that, you lazy oaf!" The man snapped. "Use Grass Mixer." Shrieking, Victreebell whipped its leaves one right after another, causing a miniature hurricane of leaves which blew noisily towards the Ninetales.
"Ninetales, use Fire Spin to get rid of those leaves," the mysterious trainer urged. A circling stream of fire erupted from the fox-like pokemon's mouth, lighting the leaves on fire and stopping the attack where it was. "Now get that Nidorina down from there!"
Nine, the fire pokemon agreed, sending a small Ember towards the rope holding Nidorina up. The poison pokemon landed heavily on the ground with a grunt of her name, before kicking the rope off of her and getting to her feet.
Nidorina hissed at the man who'd attempted to capture her unwillingly, before firing another Poison Point at his feet, causing him to dance awkwardly away to keep from being hit. "Screw this. Victreebell, return!" He recalled his pokemon before stuffing the stone back into his bag and running away into the forest without another word.
"Great job, Ninetales." The mysterious trainer congratulated her pokemon, petting the luxurious cream fur gently. The fox cooed appreciatively, tucking her head towards the pleasant sensation. Then the trainer turned back to the wary Nidorina, who tucked herself back against the tree and hissed warningly. "Poor Nidorina. You just evolved, didn't you?" Despite herself, the poison pokemon's large turquoise ears pricked up at the gentle tone.
"I've always wanted one, but I don't want to frighten you even more," the girl continued thoughtfully to herself, studying Nidorina curiously. Nidorina looked back, wary but unafraid. This girl had helped her and was making no move to attack her, even though her Ninetales would almost unquestionably win. "I don't suppose you'd want to come willingly?" She asked hopefully, moving half a step forward towards Nidorina.
The wild pokemon hissed at her and clacked her jaw warningly. "Guess not." The human girl sighed, looking dejected before rising. "C'mon, Ninetales. We need to move on." The two turned away and started to walk back the way they came.
Nidorina glanced, suddenly afraid, at the way the man had gone. Would he come back as soon as the girl left? Perhaps he was waiting behind a tree for the moment to snag her and force her to evolve. The very thought terrified Nidorina more than it shouldfve, and she hurried after the girl and Ninetales, with a loud Ni!

YOUR NAME Seraph APPLYING FOR board mod EXPERIENCE I have never exactly been a mod. I've been role playing for five years. The closest thing to a mod I've done on gaia where we helped people by critiquing threads and very briefly showed people how to role play.
INCENTIVE Well, I've been here for about four months, I have three characters, and a lot of time on my hands. And there never seems to be enough board mods. I'm usually on every day so I can respond right away at most times, and hopefully give Jordy and Tilly a break.
SAMPLE She was so tired of the cold weather. She loved ice types, apparent by her choice of Pokemon but winter she could only love so much. It was just the simple fact that winter required more layers, and more layers usually meant people looked bulkier. Which Beth honestly didn't really need that much more of to be perfectly honest. She had been able to been avoid that so far with her wide leg black trousers, a long sleeve blouse with a Cami underneath, and she wore a camel wool trench that tied at her waist. With a scarf and gloves, she at least looked less bulky and still was warm.
As usual she was going for one of her walks with Arthur, her grumpig, by her side walking with her, as he did almost every time. Himself appreciating that he got Beth all to himself today, and not that brat spheal. Beth had noticed that Arthur was getting jealous of Sorim, so she now had him helping her with her lessons and going with her on walks. He had been so much easier as a spoink. But she loved him as a grumpig too, she loved all of them equally.
As they came into the courtyard, Beth was getting a bit tired and decided a short break wouldn't hurt anyone, and it was just such a sunny and beautiful day. Even if it was a bit chilly out. She found a bench, not blanketed by snow and took a seat, before noticing she had seated herself right next to Jack Scott, her fellow coworker and a teacher. As she watched his position she tilted her head. That couldn't possibly be comfortable...but she didn't want to disturb the man either. So she pulled out a few berries for Arthur and then some fruit diet water thing for herself, taking a sip.
Arthur though had taken notice of the ninetales, and grew very, very interested. As Beth was taking a sip of her drink, Arthur moved over to the ninetales. "Grum" he called to get the lovely lilac Pokemon's attention before he slowly began to juggle the berries he had before her, being cheeky as he danced a bit trying to impress the Pokemon, before stopping them in midair and then plucking one from the air and handing it to her with a smile.
Beth had looked over and shook her head towards Arthur. He was such a Cad. "Arthur, come now, stop bothering Mr. Scott and his ninetales. Though that's very sweet of you. why don't you be this nice to Sorim?" Beth asked with a small smile towards him. He grumbled and then took the other berries and ate them in anger. He took the habit of his owner's emotional eating.

YOUR NAME STARZYFACE. APPLYING FOR ad mod.
EXPERIENCE I'm afraid not.
INCENTIVE
I love Stars, I really do. I haven't roleplayed offsite of Neopets since sixth grade, but this place has really brought back my interest and muse. Everyone's always so friendly and willing; the atmosphere is incredibly warm. <3 I can't help but always want to stop by, even when I'm busy. addictedftw Since Dayna's missing and Paya's internet is being silly, I want to step up and do something that could support this site, just a little. Members are missing left and right, and we could use more people around here sometimes. that play non-asian characters.
SAMPLE
Brown doe eyes gaped at him openly, this time in genuine confusion. What in the world did her panties do with their conversation? She was random…but that was just weird!
Not to mention, she was a bit unsettled by his persistent gaze over her pockets. Aika shivered, what a creeper… Was he looking for money or something? Gosh. All she had was King Dedede’s pokeball and her dorm key. (Unless she forgot that again. Which, frankly, wasn’t that hard to believe. Sigh.)
“…Arceus, I…I don’t get it!” The brunette blurted exasperatedly, forgetting all about her acquired drama and flailing patheticness, half hoping he’d stop that creepy look. She was broke too, you know! “What the flaaffy are you talking about now? I’m wearing panties, so what? They have weekdays on them, too, and match my socks. That way I won’t lose them! Aren’t you wearing boxers? Or something?
” She glanced critically at him for a second then continued pleasantly in an offhand tone that she thought nothing of, “Yeah. You look like a boxers kind of guy.” Seriously. If he was taunting her, at least do it in a way she could comprehend! It was really unfair otherwise! Might as well lose the waterworks, Aika pouted inwardly. It wasn’t working anyway on this dude with a desperate case of attitude. He-who-had-not-given-her-a-name-wtf was being a grumpy ol’ blastoise. Nothing she couldn’t deal with, though. This school was full of emotionally-crippled children with issues, in the first place. “You want me to end up alone? And jump off a cliff? Pffft. Yeah right. Everyone knows if you attempt to kill yourself you have to do at a famous place, like Maiden’s Peak or off the lighthouse in Olivine! If I were to do that to myself, I’d go home to Alto Mare and dive into one of the canals. We’re coordinators; we have to show off what we have with all the fireworks and jazz! It has to be a display, you know how it is these day.” She informed him as if it were a well-known fact, prattling insanely on and on about the various destinations that had become popular for such things. When he angrily explained his non-need for friendships and bonds— why was he so angry? she was being rather civil!— the girl gasped in dismay. “That’s silly, blastoiseface!” Oops. That kinda slipped out. “You couldn’t possibly mean half the things you say!”“And you’re just telling me that that to ward away your inner lack of confidence and insecurities. But don’t worry! I’ll always be there for you! Since we’re friends and all now.”Aika gave him a winning bright smile, reaching up on her tip-toes to pat his head like a pet arcanine—she had always wanted one of those as a child, but made do with the tank of snarky remoraid that would bite her fingers when she tried to pet them. “Everyone has problems, okay? That’s what makes you special. But you need friends to stick by your side when skies are gray!” Pat. Pat. Pat. (Ew, cooties. Maybe she should stop.) Even if the Meowth was possibly nice, though she doubted it, pokemon were directly influenced by their trainers after all, Hoppip preferred to stay close to her trainer (…not much of a defensive shield, but it would do) then those dangerous cat claws. “Pipi...” She whimpered, edging deeper in the filthy muck. Only one tiny scratch would be all it took to deflate Kirby’s cottonweed structure; and since she wasn’t hoping to be turned into a punctured hot air balloon any time soon, being wary seemed the safest route to take around these intimidating strangers. Go away!Ignoring his mounting frustration, Aika let go on her own accord, this time to place two hands on her hips in mock bossiness. “What the fuck is wrong with you?” She shot back, sticking out her tongue at him. Her tone had matched his for a split second, before it lapsed immediately when her anger vanished. It was rather rare of her to blatantly curse, without use of pokemon names to bleep! out what she meant, but bleh. She had the right to, didn’t she? By Kirby’s horrified squeal of righteous disapproval, apparently not. “I don’t get why you’re such a diglett.” The batshit insane chick admitted, with a happy-go-lucky smile, because shrugging her shoulders again. “But I do know that, right now, you need a big hug!” And she flyingtackleglomped him.[/blockquote] WORDS: 747 [/blockquote][/blockquote]

YOUR NAME shichi APPLYING FOR I'd like to apply for profile mod if you don't mind... I can try/attempt at board mod stuff, but I don't know how useful I'd be at it... I take that back. I can do it. I know I can randomize the hell out of Pokemon, make stories for them, and do it well. I might need a poke every so often about it.
EXPERIENCE tons on Willowvale, and I've admined/modded on about... 4 or 5 other boards over the past 8 years. Sadly, they've died so I can't actually... show you ;.;.
INCENTIVE 'cause I wanna help? I mean, I'm active enough, and I don't know how much I can give help wise, but I feel like my trolling skills could be put to better use.
SAMPLE *blatantly copy/pasta's a Kouki post*
Kouki's eyes kept on the Pokemon. Joltik were adorable creatures, and Kouki might have wanted one at some point in his life. However, the small Pokemon was an electric type, and no matter what way Kouki twisted it, he wasn't too fond of a lot of those. And a bug too. It was cute at least. Soon, he found a smile twisting on his features. How cute... she communicated with her webs.
Sal glared at the tiny critter nonetheless. He ruffled at Kouki, cawing and flapping once more, this time to be let down. How dare such a tiny creature seem more innocent than she really was. Sal saw that look in the Joltik's eyes. He knew what that thing was thinking. It was going to eat the egg. And then Kouki wouldn't have had a whatever the hell it was in here, and Sal would have had to deal with an annoyingly sad coordinator.
Even if Sal didn't like Kouki, he recognized that having a happy coordinator was better than having a depressed one.
Kouki's eyes remained on where the Joltik once sat. The web in it's place was crude, but it seemed to get the point across to him. He blinked a few times, and laughed a hearty (read: deep) laugh at the bug.
"Oh, is that all?" he asked, carefully sliding the bug onto his shoulder. He set Sal back on the bird's perch, to appease the Murkrow. All it seemed to do, however, was make Sal snort and look away from the creature.
"Oh, get along with others y'stick in the mud. You never know when it'll come back and haunt you."
[Fine. Get your egg eaten,] Sal grumbled, [Don't blame it on me later.]
Kouki waved the intricate web off of his hand (those were meant to be temporary anyway, right?) and slowly slid the bag off of his shoulder. Though reluctant to allow the boy to do so, Sal removed his talons one by one, so that Kouki could have possession of the bag and the egg inside of it.
"It's a Pokemon egg. My third one really. I'm surprised at how many there are on campus. You'd think a school full of young, restless students would be the last place on the face of the earth to hold so many eggs. Except maybe a breeder academy... but this is totally not one of those."
He pulled open the bag, displaying it's contents to first the Joltik, then to the seemingly skeptical of everything superhero. Was his explanation of an almost hideous lie not good enough for her? Maybe he had to try a little harder this time... but first, he had more important and intimate matters to take care of.
"I think it's one of the newer Pokemon. Like your Joltik here. Not one we see a whole lot of. Axe-w? Yeah, I think that was it. But it should be hatching soon, if you wanna stick around and see. I haven't had it for too long and already I can feel it kicking."
He hoped it wasn't lame or anything like that. He would have almost cried. But now, he had other things to worry about.
"... Eh, I'm too obscure, aren't I? That's Captain Obvious for ya. I let everyone else be obvious and I get to mess around with the words that're left. My powers are a little different." And nonexistent. "It just kinda happened one day. I stumbled into the wrong place at the wrong time, found myself fighting off some evil, sadness inducing baddies, and... well, I found out I could do things other people couldn't."
It was more a test of will, extreme sports. Not that he was going to say that out loud...
"I mean... a lot of the stuff I can do seems like it can be done by other people... and in all reality, if I sat down with someone long enough, I could teach 'em to fend for themselves... but not a lot of people want to do it. So I guess... my ability is suppressing my self preservation. Sounds wild and bland, doesn't it? But I guess I don't have to be super in physical ability to be super in thought. Or something like that. It's more like... let's put it this way. It's more like I encourage people to think they're super themselves. Not necessarily in the sense that they'll go off and get themselves hurt, fighting crime... flipping over things... but in the sense that they could do... whatever it was they wanted really. As Captain Obvious... I fight... in the most roundabout way possible... Disparity and Loneliness... Cowardice and Depression... all those things that discourage and inhibit people from going for whatever dream it is they want to go for. I'm... less a 'crime fighting' hero and more an 'ideal fighting' one. We've got enough crime fighters with the police anyway."
That was what Kouki thought anywho.
"What about you? I mean, I can see you're a superhero... it's pretty obvious... but like... what do you do? I got who you protect... but what's your power?"
He was so nosey sometimes.

YOUR NAME Dan APPLYING FOR Board mod EXPERIENCE I haven’t done pokemon sites before, buuuut i’ve staffed a lot of crap and ran a few of my own sites. INCENTIVE I practically live on my computer so I can post every day. SAMPLE People had seemed a little antsy when Brenden had first responded to the call. It sounded kind of ridiculous that Bidoof would lash out this way, but the sixteen year old knew better than to argue with people these days. There had been a lot worse that has happened over the years than a few rogue Bidoof. At least by doing this he’d help out the people living in the area and maybe get his pokemon to gain a few levels in the process. He wandered through the town, trekking happily down the streets until he reached his destination. There were quite a few people already crowded around when the teenager had hit the scene and from what Brenden could see there was another trainer already there.
Shit there was a lot of Bidoof here, they looked pretty damn angry too. The sixteen year old wasn’t sure if he’d be able to handle this, but there was no harm in trying... especially if he got to take out a few of these nasty things in the process. Honestly, Brenden said he loved all pokemon, but Bidoof were more like pests. They were pretty nasty things- he wouldn’t mind if he had one himself, but some people just let them get out of control. Biting down on his lip, the teenager started to dig around in his pockets before finally producing a pokeball. “Alright Saix, let’s do this.” he whispered before tossing the ball onto the field. Mister Saix GRASS. LEVEL 06. EFFECT SPORE. ♥ 1/20. ABSORB TACKLE DRAIN PUNCH
He grinned widely as his beloved Shroomish appeared on the field and stared down at the wretched group of what appeared to be wild Bidoof. “Shroo, shroomish!” The pokemon glared down at the horde wondering who was going to go after them. “Yo, dude.. you ready for this?” he asked, cocking his head to the side to glance at the other.

EXPERIENCE honestly, i haven't role played on a forum in a long time. before that, though, i was the admin of a site that lasted about two years, as well as a mod on ishball, now long since dead. along with a handful of other sites i can't really remember the names of now. D:
INCENTIVE i know i'm new to the site, but already i feel like i've been here forever and it hasn't even been that long. ;; the people here are totally awesome, and i want to be able to help out however i can. and if that happens to be by modding, so be it~ i'd love to get back into modding and forums in general, anyway; it's been far too long and this site is too awesome not to offer myself up for.
SAMPLE ohai molly post i just wrote.
despite having traveled nearly the whole of kanto over a period of seven years, molly had never felt more comfortable than in her own hometown of cerulean city. even phoex and the island of aleus couldn't compare to her city of birth. a stay at home mother had since become a gardener, and during the summer, much of molly's time was spent tending the flowers and trees with her mother. she didn't mind it in the least; the repetitive work gave her time to think, and having two water pokémon around made watering the plants many times easier than watering them manually. tobias and lydia didn't get along well, of course, but they certainly seemed to know when there was work to be done and did it well. the squabbles could wait until later.
by the time the sun rose higher in the sky and it began to get hotter, molly had showered and wandered down the stairs while smoothing a white floral-printed sundress over her hips. her father was absent, as usual; presumably, he was at the gym training or battling a challenger. molly might not have found her niche as a trainer the way her father had before her, but she shared with him a profound love of water pokémon. she lived in the city of water, after all, named after the color blue. when she hit the landing, molly caught her mother staring oddly at the dratini egg wrapped in cloth on the dining room table.
her mother clearly seemed about to speak, and before she could, molly snatched the egg off the table and beckoned to the squirtle at her mother's feet. "i know what you're gonna say; i'm keeping the egg, okay? come on tobias, let's go see daddy at the gym," she spoke up, cradling the egg in her arms. she could feel the older woman's stare on her back as she wandered out the door, but it was not until she was out of the house that she breathed a sigh of relief at her mother's silence. clearly she'd given up trying to argue with the opinionated girl.
molly had barely begun to make her way leisurely in the direction of the gym when a particular photo caught her eye for quite possibly the thousandth time. the name on it still caused her to feel lonelier than ever, and she gave a quiet sigh before averting her gaze. it was silly, wasn't it? lingering on a childhood promise like he still cared about her at all. he'd also promised to keep in contact with her, and that hadn't happened. almost fifteen years it had been since she'd last seen him, and so distracted was she that she just barely avoided tripping over a shinx on the path in front of her. while tobias only glared at the electric type, molly hopped over him rather unceremoniously.
she clung to her egg with one hand as she smoothed her dress back down with the other. finally, with an awkward cough, she looked up at the trainer to whom the electric cub seemed to belong to, and she could have sworn her heart momentarily stopped at the sight of the person in front of her. it took her a minute to find her voice, and finally, molly squeaked, "yoka?" her wide-eyed gaze didn't leave the older boy as she clung to the egg in her arms for dear life. a rather disgruntled tobias stood beside her, stubby arms crossed across the front of his shell as he watched the strange boy that seemed to have captured molly's attention. "you came back..."

YOUR NAME unfezant. APPLYING FOR board mod.
EXPERIENCE yes. here, actually.
INCENTIVE have you seen me? c;
SAMPLE The sun was beginning to disappear behind the trees and the moon cast an eerie light through the forest. The branches crisscrossed, melting together, like a ceiling of sorts for the forest. The moon cast the strange glow through branches creating a line pattern on the earth's floor. It almost seemed like a jail. The woods were slightly quiet, the low hum of the occasional sleeping bug could be heard. But for the most part, it was soothingly quiet.
Amongst the humming of bug types, and the gentle snore of the others was the hooting sound of an occasional Noctowl. At night they were the kings and queens of the forest. They were regal creatures, with large wings and pointed feathers. The two most powerful Noctowl in the forest were sitting in a low branch of the tallest tree. (Which even as the lowest, was still higher than some of the trees.) The first Noctowl, the male, was the oldest of all the ones in the forest. His feathers were tipped in grey from age but his wise expression was still unfaltering. When he hooted, it was deep rumbling sound, almost like thunder. There were a few cuts and gashes on his wings from fights. But he had always come out the victor.
Beside him, a slightly younger Noctowl. She was more feminine in the looks. Her body was narrower, the feathered horns on her head thinner and more pointed. She hooted far more often than he did, and it was a lulling melody that almost seemed to put you to sleep. But they were not alone. Next to the female, at the edge of the branch, sat a Hoothoot. She was small and chubby, with brilliant red eyes. Her tiny wings were folded awkwardly at her side. The older female looked over and gave a reassuring hoot.
It was time for her to leave home. Or at least leave the sanctuary of being at her parents' sides. She was too old to continue to stay among them. She could stay in the gathering of them. But she couldn't continue to hide in their shadows. She gave a sad hoot and flapped her wings. She lifted off and disappeared from her parents view. All this time her father had no reacted until she was gone and he dipped his beak downward.
She flapped for what seemed like hours until she was exhausted. She touched down, her clawed feet connecting with the cold ground. There wasn't much snow here, the roof canopy blocked it. But the ground was still cold. The Hoothoot hissed through a clenched beak. The sound of a human made her turn her rotund body to find the source of the noise. A trainer and his small green creature. While the Hoothoot was getting older, she had never left the forest -- therefore, this creature was completely new to her.
"Hooo, hooo." She chimed in a friendly manner. Her parents had kept her shielded from humans all her life. She had seen them before, but had never seen them catch a Pokemon or do anything bad. She had seen them with Pokemon, who always seemed so happy. She didn't fear this human, but should she have?

YOUR NAME Hilly~ c: APPLYING FOR Board Mod
EXPERIENCE Never ever. x: But I'm a quick study!
INCENTIVE I have a tendency to not sleep and as such am online a ridiculous amount of the time. I'm a writing fiend and think that I would be able to handle the responsibilities well.
I love to make up unique/interesting personalities and stories, so I think I would be well suited to apply these skills to pokemon and it's always really fun to write something different than what I usual write.
Even though I haven't been on Stars very long I already feel so, so welcome and I want to be able to help the site grow and make new members feel just as welcome as everyone made me feel. <3
SAMPLE i know it's really long, but i really like this post. nn;;;
Producing a smile from Bristol was the sun shining through a grey sky, brightening the dismal atmosphere that the conversation had produced. Both boys weren't the type to dwell on melancholy issues, sulking the day away with regret and misery bottled up inside. And while they weren't immune to such emotions, it seemed the cure for each was the other, smiles contagious to more smiles, until the bad thoughts were fleeting memories for the time being. Niko only needed to look at Bristol, call him up and hear that initial hello to be reminded of the friendship the two shared - the one that would conquer all trials. It was on the days that Nikolai felt helpless amid the on goings of his own life, trapped in an endless spiral of responsibility and duty that he desperately wished to discard, that he turned to Bristol. The recollection that he had such a loyal friend made the days a little simpler and a lot happier.
"Mmhm," He mumbled at the gratification, as though it wasn't really needed. It was a technicality by now, because Nikolai had never questioned Bristol's appreciation, it no doubt mirrored his own. Due to the flighty tendencies of the fourth year, prone to impromptu road trips to where ever he fancied, he'd met Bristol. Of course, he wouldn't change the fact that the meeting happened for anything in the world. Though when they had met, Nikolai remained vaguely ashamed of his actions towards the then shy boy, he'd fully intended to know Bristol for the better half of an hour or so, perhaps the night if the situation was right. Niko had spotted him instantly, having an eye for those adorable, gorgeous types, and yes, he still firmly held on to that belief. Who said you couldn't appreciate your friends looks? However, at the time he'd intended on a more casual sort of relationship and with a stealthy arm slinking around Bristol's waist, he'd whispered a string of compliments in to the younger boy's ear that had been the catalyst for the most brilliant shade of red Nikolai had ever seen spring to life on anyone.
It was perhaps in that moment that he'd felt an affinity towards Bristol, though Nikolai wasn't partial to philosophy and as such tended not to think on the finer details that bonded them together in the first place. And yet the fact remained that Nikolai, for the first time in his many, many seduction attempts, had apologized, though through a bought of highly amused chuckles and had offered to treat the other boy to lunch. It was, however, impossible not to tease him for nearly an hour after the fact about just how red he had become and just how quickly. Honestly, Niko wasn't sure how he hadn't chased his best friend off that very day, though he was unable to expression how glad he was that he hadn't.
A sigh fell from Nikolai's lips and he shook his head in disbelief. Was he really perceived as so violent that he'd leap at the chance to brawl with any who deserved it? He knew Bristol avoided confrontation and with the exception of pure malice against the blonde, Niko knew when to compose himself and shrug off those unfortunate circumstances that couldn't be helped. "I wouldn't call myself huffy, per say, but it's my default setting, you know? I'm not about to beat up your boyfriend for the idiotic choice of neglecting you all summer because, well, I sort of did the same, didn't I?" He could only offer an apologetic smile for that one. "But I missed you the most - just for the record," He added matter-of-factly as Bristol stifled ill content.
"Of course. Always," He promised, allowing himself to be pushed back, though his brow was raised in puzzlement as he tried to decipher the meaning to Bristol's sudden movement. Cuddles, however, were always welcome, despite Nikolai denying the fact to anyone else. His arms quickly found their place around Bristol's waist, comfortably resting against the younger boy’s hips. Nuzzling the top of Bristol head, blonde hair becoming more mussed than usual, Nikolai let out a breathy laugh, tension officially vanquished. Bristol was good at that, probably due to the millions of hours logged saving numerous (fictional) worlds. Bristol's hair smelled heavenly and Nikolai nearly asked what the hell amazing shampoo he was using to have such soft, aromatic hair - and then he realized he'd sound like an absolute fruitcake.
"Haa~" He let out a surprised laugh, tipping his chin up as an instinctive reflex to the stealthy kiss that found its way to the underside of his jaw. It tickled, really, but Nikolai wasn't about to admit that either. "Quit trying to seduce me, you flirt~" He teased, leaning forward again to nuzzle Bristol's shoulder in reply. The amount of time they spent doting on each other was a little silly, actually. "Happy to be back but..." The dark-haired boy let out an exasperated sigh, resting his chin atop Bristol's head. "Last night was ridiculous. I left Fauste Bloom sleeping in my bed this morning because the girl passed out and wouldn't budge, she's new but our parents have a...partnership, I suppose? Anyway, I've been up since five thirty a-" He paused, briefly, realizing he was about to confess his nightmare to Bristol right there and then. The blonde was trustworthy, of course, which was why Nikolai had nearly slipped up in the first place, but they were already attempting to bypass one problematic conversation.
"-and I think I'd rather opt out to play video games with you one night, despite the fact that you constantly kick my ass at everything. Racing games, hey? At least I stand a chance against those rapid fire gamer thumbs of yours." He motioned his head backwards, towards the jacket insulated Girafarig egg, nuzzling up to Bristol's Eevee egg in a perfect mimic of their trainers. "Besides, that little thing there wasn't made for parties. It nearly fell off the bed last night and I swear I had a minor heart attack."

YOUR NAME owls. APPLYING FOR board mod EXPERIENCE yes! i was in charge of generating wild pokemon and sorting biographies into their appropriate sub-boards. INCENTIVE dude. fer srs? i've been with stars for a full year in october. i've had my periods of in-activeness, but i've been here for the most part. i love stars. it was the first pokemon site i've ever been a part of. c: andd, it's my all time favorite. i iz sounding whiny right now. anywho, i've seen plenty of mods come and go and i feel like i'm adequate enough to take kiwi's place. though i'd never ever ever want to. i miss my kiwipants.SAMPLE Chantel had little time to stop and chat. She and Penelope were on their way to the courtyard. To hide behind a few select maple trees and practice. The blonde-haired beauty didn’t really enjoy socializing with others. It made her lose focus of the real dream: being a coordinating genius. The third year wanted to make it big; Penelope had the same drive, though the bird liked to show it though the bird liked to show her zest through fighting and being as ass. Chantel had little tolerance for her pokemon’s shenanigans, but didn’t do too much to attempt to stop her. It was blatant ignoring that showed her agitation. The bird had no such attitude today, however. Penelope was perched happily on her shoulder and had her feathers puffed out to catch the wind. She gripped Chantel’s shoulder hard before taking off and soaring through the breeze. The Taillow gave a cry of delight and turned to spy her companion glowering at her and rubbing the spot Penelope had just taken off from.
The bird gave a coo and fluttered over to inspect the girl’s injury. As she approached, Chantel rolled up the sleeve of her ivory top. There was no blood, but talon marks raked lines across the reddened skin. Penelope’s narrowed eyes dissected the lines. As she stared at them, the bird flexed her navy-colored feet. She gave a small cry of disbelief. The trainer sighed and rolled her eyes. The Taillow acted so innocent when she knew she was in trouble. Chantel’s gaze softened the longer she looked at her friend. At first, the blonde was deadest on receiving a livelier pokemon: Pichu or Minun, perhaps. It seemed the girl would’ve fared very well with an electric type. Those were the types that always appeared to be jumping and bouncing. Chantel didn’t know of the joys that a flying pokemon could bring until she was given Penelope. The navy and crimson bird had the energy, but she lacked motivation sometimes. Her moveset had little bulk to it, however. It was due to her age, but only leveling up would improve that.
As they reached the secluded spot, Chantel smoothed out her skirt. It was short and dark brown. Went nicely with her blouse. The ruffles of which were stirring in the breeze. Penelope was having a grand ole’ time. The bird was tucked in her pokeball a lot. Chantel loved her, but she was unpredictable. And couldn’t yet be trusted with stranger’s pokemon. She was keen to fight and prove herself. Too much so. She would attack any pokemon; no matter the size. Penelope was happy to be out and about at last. Chantel called her over with a wave. “We’re going to try and improve how you look when you’re performing a move, alright?” The bird gave an irritated squawk at the though she looked unattractive. Chantel held out her arm to allow the bird to rest. Skeptical though sh was, Penelope agreed and nestled atop her perch. “Now, show me a peck attack. On that tree over there.” The girl commanded; her hand flicking absentmindedly toward a large maple’s trunk.
The bird puffed out her chest and blinked at Chantel. “Taillll,” she cooed, flapping towards the target. She tucked in her wings as she got closer and gained speed. Outstretching her talons, the Taillow latched onto the tree and rammed her beak into the wood with a harsh peck attack. She pecked over and over; obliterating the bark. “Nell, stop,” her trainer ordered, narrowing her eyes. The bird cooed dolefully and soared over to her. She blinked and awaited the critique. Penelope knew it was coming. Chantel opened her mouth and the bird sighed. The girl arched an eyebrow and continued with her lecture. “That was a good attack, but you moved too fast. The judges won’t be able to see your concentration. Or the different colors of your feathers. Slower, Penelope. When you’re in the battling round, speed will be necessary. Not in the appeal round. Now, how can we make your moves look nice when you’re attacking?” The girl pinned her hair up and began to think.
